Soft Tissue Surgery

We love and care for all animals and are ready to help as many of them as possible. When you bring them in, we will carefully examine them and decide if they need soft tissue surgery. Soft tissue pet surgery encompasses a wide range of surgical procedures that address various conditions or issues involving organs, tissues, and structures other than bones and joints. These procedures are performed to diagnose, treat, or manage multiple medical conditions in pets.

Bring your pets to the South Coast Veterinary Hospital in Laguna Niguel, CA, where our veterinarians can perform pet surgery. Here are the procedures we offer:

soft tissue surgery

Histopathology (Mass Removal)

Mass removals in pets, regardless of size, often involve a surgical procedure to remove abnormal growths or tumors. These masses can vary in size, location, and type, influencing the surgical approach and post-operative care.

PU (Perineal Urethrostomy) for Cat Blockage

Sometimes, cats may have a urinary obstruction. Our vet will simply remove the narrowest part of the urethra, making it easier for them to urinate and prevent it from happening again. There is a good recovery prognosis, and minimal rest is needed.

Cystotomy (Bladder Stone Removal)

A calcium stone may form in your pet's bladder, whether a cat or a dog. The procedure is fairly straightforward, and the recovery time is minimal, though your pet will likely have to wear a collar to keep from licking the wound. Some medication might be needed. Follow the directions of our veterinarian before and after the procedure.

Foreign Body Surgery

Foreign body surgery is performed if your pet ingests an object or foreign material that cannot naturally pass through the digestive system. This surgery is necessary to remove the foreign body, prevent complications, and ensure your pet's well-being.

Splenectomy Surgery

A splenectomy is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of the spleen. This surgery is performed for various medical reasons when the spleen becomes diseased, damaged, or enlarged beyond its normal size.
